How does my status affect my admission/enrollment?

Are you planning to utilize VA education benefits to assist with your tuition and living expenses while you are a student?

If yes, while you are undertaking the 录取过程 at Delaware Tech, you should also be applying for your VA educational benefits. 参观 退伍军人福利网站 to learn more about the benefits you may be eligible for, as well as to apply. This could take at least 10-12 weeks to process, so start early.

After applying and being approved by the VA department, you will receive a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) outlining your benefits. You must submit the COE to the campus 退伍军人 and 服务人员 Counselor, who will then use this document to certify your enrollment with the VA. This is the process of certification that results in your receiving benefits.

After applying for admission, make sure you see the 退伍军人 and 服务人员 Counselor 在你的校园里学习更多.

Are you planning on enrolling in a competitive enrollment program or would like to register early?

Pursuant to federal statute, priority of service shall be given to veterans and eligible spouses. Priority of services shall include the opening of online and in-person registration one day earlier for eligible veterans and eligible spouses than other students, 除了…之外 priority placement in competitive ranking programs, once all other minimum requirements have been met. For more information, please visit the Priority of Service Policy for 退伍军人 and Eligible Spouses.

What are the readmission procedures for students called to active duty?

In accordance with the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (HEOA), a student who is called to active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces or the National Guard or Reserve for a period of more than 30 days is entitled to reenroll in the same program, 具有相同的入学状态, 学分数, and academic standing as when s/he was last in attendance at Delaware Tech provided the student meets all eligibility requirements and the requirements outlined in Delaware Tech’s Readmission Policy for 退伍军人 and 服务人员.

As set forth in this Policy, Delaware Tech will 重新接纳 拥有 相同的学术地位 as the student had prior to leaving for military duty according to the following:

  1. To the same program to which he or she was last admitted by the College unless the student requests or agrees to a different program.  In the event that the program to which the student was last admitted is no longer offered, the College will 重新接纳 the veteran to a course of study that is most similar to the program that was discontinued.
  2. At the same enrollment status that the student last held 在学院, unless the student requests admission at a previous enrollment status.
  3. With the same number of credit or clock hours completed by the student, unless the student is 重新接纳ted to a different program to which the credit or clock hours are not transferable.
  4. With the same academic standing (e.g. with the same satisfactory academic progress status) the student had 在学院 immediately prior to leaving for military duty.

Current and prospective students are encour年龄d to review the College’s Readmission Policy for 退伍军人 and 服务人员 in its entirety for all of these readmission requirements and procedures.
